Compared with other frames, rimless eyewear frames are very simple. They comprise a bridge and side arms, which are attached by drilling into the lenses. But the simple design don’t make them plain. They give you a light, barely there look, and wearers like the invisible effect of these specs.
Rimless eyewear frames are suitable for most prescriptions. An anti-reflection coating on these lenses enhances the barely there look, or a coloured tint can add interest and draw attention to the lens shape. Rimless eyewear frames can be very simple but not plain, or very jewellery like, embellished with stones or colour inlay. The shape of the lens dictates the shape of the finished specs, so if you want wacky square eyes or even to copy a frame you’ve always loved, you can ask for the lenses to be cut into your chosen shape. You can also have a groove inset around the lens and filled with coloured enamel, if you still want the definition of a rim but not the weight.
